Abstract
This paper investigates whether the impact of paternity leave on fertility depends on cultural environment. A panel data analysis of OECD countries over a 22-year period reveals that the effect of paternity leave varies significantly across cultural contexts. The findings caution policymakers that adopting another country’s paternity leave policy may not yield comparable outcomes without accounting for cultural differences.
