Abstract
Many computer science courses require the students to do some programming. For courses like Introduction to Pascal and Data Structures 101 it is not hard to dream up suitable exercises. For courses on operating systems, it is much more difficult to arrange for a suitable programming laboratory. This paper discusses a solution to the problem based on using a UNIX clone written by the author and available in source form for classroom use.
