Abstract

In the current ever-changing market, agility has become a fundamental prerequisite for organizational success. Despite the extensive research into agility, its components, and implementation across various sectors and industries, there remains a notable gap in the literature regarding its application within the Egyptian architectural firms’ sector. Specifically, there is a lack of investigation into the interplay relationship between achieving agility, organizational strategy, and its consequent impact on firm performance within the market. This study aims to investigate this relationship through adopting an empirical approach, data was collected from practitioners within the architectural sector. The study used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using Smart PLS version 4.1.0.2 software to develop and analyze a comprehensive model of agility. The findings indicate that organizational agility does not significantly influence firm performance without a well-defined organizational strategy. This suggests the mediating role of organizational strategy in linking agility to firm performance in Egyptian architectural firms. By integrating the Dynamic Capabilities View and Resource-Based View, this study highlights the importance of agility capabilities and enablers as strategic resources that support effective organizational strategy. The study concludes by highlighting approaches for future research and practical application of agility frameworks in architectural practice in Egypt.
