Abstract

This research was conducted with the main objective of delimiting the cost of losses caused by deficiencies in quality management and increase profitability through the proposal of improvement in the service of a clinical laboratory in the city of Trujillo, with the assumption that it will increase its efficiency based on an appropriate proposal for improvement for the service provided by the laboratory. The study was carried out by means of quantitative and experimental research, using observation, consultation with people close and involved in the company and data recording in media that facilitated the collection of data and crucial information for the research. Likewise, tools related to the current situational diagnosis of the company were applied, such as the Ishikawa Diagram, Indicator and Monetization Matrix, Pareto Diagram, among others, accessing the company's internal information and learning about its deficiencies, losses and how this affects its productivity. Also, we made use of improvement methodologies for quality management, such as the application of QFD, AMFE, DMAIC Six Sigma, which allowed us to propose solutions to eliminate the deficiencies and losses found in the initial analysis. It was determined that losses were reduced by 37.19%. In addition, we were able to determine financial indicators such as VAN, TIR and PRI, which indicate whether the investment and improvement proposal is viable or not. With all the above mentioned, it was determined that the company reduced its costs of losses due to deficiencies in quality management and increased its productivity and efficiency of its activity.
