Abstract

The Walesi District has natural potential that can be managed into natural tourism to contribute to increasing community and regional income. Still, it needs to be managed optimally and sustainably. The research objectives are identifying and analyzing potential tourist objects and attractions, identifying problems, and formulating tourism development strategies. The research used a survey approach. The objects of study, namely the potential of the Operational Areas of Tourist Attractions, physical tourist conditions, socio-economic conditions, accessibility conditions, and availability of facilities and infrastructure, were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The research concludes that Walesi has a high potential for developing the natural and cultural tourism sector. However, safety factors still need to be higher, and tourism management needs to be managed professionally and sustainably. The management strategy is to increase security guarantees and increase professional tourism management by increasing promotion so that community welfare and regional income increase.
