Abstract

Infiltration is the process by which water passes through the ground surface. Knows the rate of infiltration is of great importance, being characteristic for detecting changes of cultivation and soil management, being useful in many areas, especially in agriculture. This study aimed to estimate the stable infiltration rate (Tie) in an Oxisol. This study was conducted in an area of native cerrado from the Federal University of Mato Grosso, using the method of ring infiltrometer. The readings were stored in a spreadsheet in which values were used to construct the curve of cumulative infiltration. After 434 minutes it was observed stabilize of water infiltration. Due to the physical characteristics observed in the soil analyzed, there was a high infiltration rate, framing it within a range of stable infiltration rate very high.
