Abstract

The present study discusses the role played by the Kruger's House Eco-rural Tourism Portal, in Joinville-SC, in the process of safeguarding and maintaining the historical cultural identity of this municipality, associated to the incentive to rural tourism. Joinville-SC presents natural and historical-cultural resources in different rural locations, among them Casa Kruger, which constitute potential for the development of tourism. Thus, this research uses exploratory study to discuss the creation of the Portal and its inclusion as space articulator rural tourism in Joinville. The use of the material and immaterial cultural heritage in the tourist supply can mean advances from the economic point of view and the awareness of the community in the sense of its preservation, that is, it becomes an articulator for economic and social development.
