Abstract

The performance of the missing transverse momentum reconstruction in the ATLAS detector is evaluated using data collected in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7TeV in 2010. Evaluation of the systematic uncertainty on the missing transverse momentum scale is presented. A method to mitigate the effects arising from additional proton-proton interactions superimposed on the hard physics process is also discussed for the 2011 beam conditions.
