Abstract

This review describes the clinical spectrum of bipolar disorder and its classification in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)-IV and the international Classification of Diseases (ICD)-10. The development of new diagnostic trends and their clinical implications are discussed. © International League Against Epilepsy.
