Abstract

The practice of the emergence of corporate impunity which creates legal uncertainty in terms of environmental crimes in the international sphere, demands more stringent and special arrangements in international agreements. This research is entitled “Ecocide in the View of International Criminalization by Strengthening Corporate Impunity Based on International Criminal Law”, with a juridical normative research method as well as a statutory and conceptual approach. The formulation of the problem in this research includes first, how can ecocide be classified as a form of international criminalization based on International Criminal Law? And secondly, how can ecocide be taken against the backdrop of strengthening corporate impunity in Indonesia based on international criminal law? The temporary conclusions from this research are first, by making new regulations or revising old regulations to include ecocide as a crime against humanity, and second, by implementing developments in regulations and views on ecocide in Indonesian laws and regulations.
