Excessive exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause various skin health problems such as premature aging, pigmentation, and skin cancer. Protection against UV rays is important, especially in productive ages, including students. This study aims to analyze the differences in knowledge and behavior of skin protection against UV rays between male and female students of the Faculty of Medicine, Defense University. The method used is quantitative comparative with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 120 students was selected purposively. The results showed a significant difference between the level of knowledge and behavior of UV rays protection in male and female students (p < 0.05). Female students have a higher level of knowledge and behavior of protection than male students. Continuous educational interventions are needed to increase awareness of the importance of skin protection from UV rays exposure evenly.
