Abstract

The following new taxa are described: Australotarma gen. n. (type‐species A. hirsuta sp. n., from S.E. Queensland), A. kierae sp. n. (from New South Wales), Targarops gen. n. (type‐species T. noahi sp. n., from N.E. Queensland), Truncaloides gen. n. (type‐species T. slateri sp. n., from S.E. Queensland), and Popondetta gen. n. (type‐species P. monteithi sp. n., from Papua). The probable relationships of the new genera are discussed, and attention is drawn to the possible significance of the new species as “seed predators” of rain forest trees.
