Abstract

I propose, based on the division of Mount Parnassus into two summits, which will function as a metaphor for a methodological partition, to approach the study of the «Epístola a la Serenísima Reina de los Ángeles, santa María Virgen y Madre de Dios de Diego Mexía de Fernangil, su siervo indigno», a composition included in the manuscript entitled Segunda parte del Parnaso Antártico de divinos poemas (1617). The two parts are the study of the poetic epistle as a literary form, the first summit; and Virgin Mary’s life as a genre, the second summit.
