A new chromosome number in the australian species nicotiana cavicola L. (Burbidge)

Abstract

Nicotiana cavicola, an annual West Australian species belonging to the section Suaveolentes, subgenus Petunioides, was first described by Burbidge (1960) who reported it to have a somatic chromosome number of 2n=46. A new somatic number of 2n=40 is now recorded for this species. © 1975 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
