Abstract
Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVL), or ‘angiotropic lymphoma’, was earlier regarded, since the original description in 1959 by Pfleger and Tappeiner,1 as an endothelial neoplasia with vascular dissemination. IVL was recognized as a peculiar form of lymphoid neoplasm only about 22 years ago,2 and only recently included in lymphoma classifications. IVL is currently defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) classification as an extranodal lymphoma characterized by the presence of neoplastic lymphocytes within the lumina of small vessels.
