Abstract
The product specifications of sterile preparations should meet include the pH value, the determination of metal content and appearance. Testing of sodium and potassium metal content is accepted as a marker of quality assurance of infusion products where the determination is using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), This study aims to determine whether the levels of sodium and potassium in electrolyte infusion preparations (Tutofusin OPS) meet the specifications or not as part of the qualification released product, research methods conducted experimentally determining the levels of sodium and potassium metal, pH checks, and the appearance of three different batch number. From the measurement of sodium content (mEq / L), batch number X001 is 96.1 ± 0.35, lower than batch number X002 which is 96.72 ± 0.91, while the highest value is in batch X003 number 97.35 ± 0.32, the three batch numbers meet the specifications namely 93.00-107.00 mEq / L. Potassium content (mEq / L) in batch number X003 is 17.23 ± 0.12 lower than batch number X002 which is 17.90 ± 0.18, and batch X001 17.82 ± 0.01, all three of these batches have met the specifications of 16.74-2.26 mEq / L. On the pH value of each batch, the batch number X001 is 6.63, lower than the batch number X002, which is 6.73, while the highest value on the batch number X003 is 6.74. all three batches have met the specifications of 6.60-7.00. As for the result of the appearance of three different batches obtained clear solution is colorless and free of particles. This research concluded that the three parameters showed the levels of sodium and potassium, the pH value and the appearance of the electrolyte infusion preparation met the specifications.
