Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the research method used to analyze housing developments in the Minha Casa, Minha Vida Program (PMCMV) in Viçosa (MG). Initially, the research sought to evaluate the results of the Social Work carried out based on the processes of representation and re-signification of the beneficiaries on the inhabited space and the axes addressed in the proposed intervention actions of the program. The research method adopted favored a qualitative perspective and participatory methodologies and showed its potential for a broader understanding of the program's results considering the housing reality experienced by the population benefited locally. Based on the evaluation carried out, it was possible to make observations about the reality of the housing complexes and to understand the effectiveness and impact of the actions implemented by the PMCMV in the specific reality of Viçosa, considering not only the expected goals, but, above all, their result and effective changes in the life of the benefited population.
