Abstract

The strain-rate sensitivity of coarse-grained Ti-50.0at.%Ni alloy was studied in the 20 to 500°C temperature range and 10-3 to 10 -5 s-1 strain-rate range using the stain-rate jump test. The strain rate sensitivity at a strain rate as low as 10-6 s -1 was determined using the creep test. A maximum strain-rate-sensitivity exponent m of 0.5 was measured at 500°C in the [10-5 -10-6]s-1 strain-rate range. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
