Abstract

This paper deals with a typical problem of renewable resources described in terms ofan optimal control model. The différences in the analysis ofthe three cases of concave, linear, and convex utility functions are pointed out and optimal solutions are obtained. It is also demonstrated that the size ofthe discount rate can détermine the structure ofthe optimal policy.
