CONCERT ACTIVITY AS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN THE ACADEMIC VOCAL CLASS

Abstract

The article reveals the importance of concert activity for the formation of the vocal culture of future performers; its role in the educational process in the academic vocal class. The expediency of including concert activity in the methodology of vocal education is substantiated. A brief description of various forms of concert activity and professionally significant skills and abilities formed in its process is presented. The risks of excluding this type of work from the educational process and the reasons that have a negative impact on the quality of concert performance are noted. In this perspective, the following problems are considered: the dependence of vocal activity on the psychophysical state; the influence of stress on the emotional, mental, volitional spheres and the functioning of the body systems; possible approaches to their elimination are outlined through the use of a special method of training singers in the academic vocal class. The fundamental provisions of the methodology of differentiated step­by­step preparation of students for concert activities are given. The circle of problems arising in connection with the restriction of holding mass events and the absence of public performances for a long time is outlined. Special attention is paid to the results confirming a significant decrease in the quality of vocal activity in concert conditions for performers with experience in public speaking, as well as the complete lack of skills and abilities of concert activity for performers accepted for training in 2020–2021. Some problems that the teacher of academic vocals has to solve when choosing the forms of concert activity in conditions of limiting mass events with students of children’s art schools and children’s music schools are outlined. The types of public performances available in modern conditions and contributing to the formation of a complex of concert and stage skills and abilities of students are proposed.
