Abstract

An encounter between an adult male barren-ground Black Bear (Ursus americanus) and an adult Wolf (Canis lupus) at the Wolf's den near the Ikarut River in northern Labrador (ca. 58-degrees 09' N, 63-degrees 05' W) on 7 July 1990 is described in which the wolf as actively aggressive and the bear responded with only low levels of defense.
