Abstract
ABSTRACTThis experience arises from courses on e-learning implementation aimed at members ofcorporations and Universities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The interest in these coursesconfirms the existence of a variety of virtual education programs in the region and, consequently, thegrowing acceptance of e-learning.Universities have been developing new experiences and research projects that meet thepopulation’s new educational needs, and working on new teaching and learning programs, that allowtheir countries to become more competitive.In this context, it was decided to create a virtual community of members belonging to universitiesthat have been implementing or wish to start e-learning projects, with the purpose of constructingknowledge and elaborating a collaborative product.The project was directed by Susana Trabaldo and Nancy Piriz. The general coordination was incharge of Graciela Lorenzatti, and Beatriz Aquino and Edgar Salgado García were active collaborators.
