Foresight in civil shipbuilding - 2030

Abstract

Foresight studies of future markets and technologies enable various scenarios for the shipbuilding industry to be identified. Innovative scenarios assume a shift from mass production to small-scale or even single-unit niche production under diversified demand. This should be accompanied by active promotion of competition not only in shipbuilding but in related industries too. Comparative analysis of scenarios shows that active government policies to support the production of high-technology vessels will generate multiplier effects and strengthen the competitiveness of the Russian economy.
