Abstract

Outlines GIS systems capable of assembling, storing, manipulating and displaying geographically-referenced material relating to insects, paying particular attention to their uses in 1) relating insect outbreaks to biological and physiographic features of the landscape, and 2) analysis of insect census data. Geostatistical analyses of spatial patterns, eg of insect densities, are then reviewed. -P.J.Jarvis
