Abstract

One of the needs that can support the fulfillment of data and information and its management is a laptop. Apart from being portable, currently laptops are also considered to have better performance, but currently there are many types of laptops with their respective specifications spread on the market, this makes it quite difficult for consumers to determine a laptop that suits their needs, the need for fast information makes There is a need for a laptop selection recommendation system that can answer the needs of laptop consumers quickly and accurately. The aim of this research is to develop a laptop selection recommendation system using the weighted product method. This research produces a system that is fast and precise in providing laptop recommendations that suit user needs. The process of determining a laptop is faster because the laptop data, laptop type and laptop specifications are in one database, so that the data that is used as a benchmark for determining a laptop is centralized. This means that consumers do not need to search for the data they need in several sources separately. The results of determining the laptop are more precise because they have gone through several calculation processes in accordance with the stages of the weighted product method. This makes consumers have more confidence in this recommendation system in determining a laptop that suits their needs.
