Abstract
This study aims to review and summarize the progress and effectiveness of the National Basic Public Health Service (NBPHS) project in Jiangxi Province in the past 7 years (2017–2023). By analyzing the monitoring data of the NBPHS management platform, the coverage and coverage rate growth of basic public health services in Jiangxi Province in the past 7 years were analyzed from the perspective of the supplier. From October to November 2023, in 118 counties (cities and districts) of the province, all institutions carried out a comprehensive survey on the sense of access to NBPHS projects, and investigated the residents’ awareness rate and service satisfaction rate of NBPHS projects from the perspective of demand. In the past 7 years, the coverage rate of all kinds of basic public health services in our province has increased significantly: the rate of health file establishment, electronic health file establishment and health file utilization increased from 83.32%, 82.20% and 49.86% in 2017 to 93.42%, 93.41%, and 63.65% in 2023, respectively. The average annual growth rates were 1.95%, 2.18%, and 4.29%, respectively. The province distributed about 117, 063, 100 copies of printed health education materials, played about 5, 419, 700 audiovisual health education materials, and held health education lectures with a total of 25, 949, 900 participants; the blood pressure and blood glucose control rate of hypertension and diabetes management group increased by 13.99% and 19.32%, respectively, with an average annual growth rate of 3.76% and 5.18%, respectively. The population coverage of basic public health service items has increased significantly, the goal of wide coverage of services has been basically achieved. The comprehensive implementation of the NBPHS project is an important measure to move towards the goal of “universal health coverage.”
