Abstract

The linear A.C. electrode polarization impedance of polished platinum has been analyzed on the basis of the rate determining mechanism of the oxygen electrode. The impedance has been found to follow the frequency dependence predicted by an adsorption of the electroactive species. The effects of D.C. potential and specific adsorption of anions have been studied and their effect on the electrode polarization impedance is in agreement with the adsorption mechanism. © 1977, IEEE.
