Abstract

Cyber-loafing behavior, which is internet usage behavior that is not related to work, can hurt employee productivity and performance in the organization. This research aims to determine the impact of cyber-loafing on the productivity and performance of educational staff. The method used in this study was a phenomenological approach to measure the phenomenon of cyber-loafing behavior in the human resources aspect. The data collection technique used interview techniques with research informants at the state and private universities in Surabaya. The results show that cyber-loafing behavior influences the productivity and performance of education staff in their work environment. These findings can be the basis for educational institutions to control and supervise internet use by their employees.
