Abstract

Federal laws affect contingent workers and the companies using their services, but do not directly address compliance in the context of such workers. Congress enacted employment laws, as well as employee benefit laws, prior to popular use of contingent workers. This article examines fact-specific applications of federal employment laws and existing contingent worker regulations, particularly within the benefits and compensation arena.
