Abstract

The formulation and method of solving the problem of convective heat transfer through a double-glazed window are presented. A description is given of the influence of the main parameters of the glass on the mechanism and quantitative characteristics of the process. The presence of the optimal thickness of the gas-filled chamber, at which its thermal resistance has a maximum value, is revealed. The possibilities of reducing convective heat losses through double-glazed windows by increasing the number of glasses and the use of low-heat-conducting gas filler are analyzed in detail. The main characteristics of the process of convective heat transfer for single and double chamber double-glazed windows with various gas fillers are given.
