Abstract
Magnetization switching experiments on nanosized [Co(δCo 0.3 - 0.8 nm)/Pd (2 nm)]3 multilayer dots with the diameter of D 240 - 500 nm are carried out using pulse fields with the duration of 1.6 - 10 ns. The switching fields in the nanoseconds regime are significantly enhanced with respect to the values measured by conventional quasistatic magnetometry. The energy barriers are evaluated from the time-dependence of the switching field based on the Néel-Arrhenius law and are found to be proportional to the Co layer thickness. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
