Abstract

This text proposes a reflection on the relation between the film, history and memory. The film is included here as a support to history in this ability to reflect the attitudes and the orientations of a particular society, in this case the Brazilian society, as a valuable means of identification, as way of acting and think. Using different theoretical approaching, from Kracauer, Sorlin to Bergson and Ricoeur, we intend to discuss history as an object of the film and also its capacity of reconstruction memory.
