Abstract

Traditional architectural buildings have a fairly high harmonization of the environment because they go through a long adaptation process. Cultural and climatic aspects greatly affect the traditional aceh architectural form which has undergone long adaptation in an effort to protect against climate influences. Adaptation to climate can be seen from the application of passive cooling strategies in architecture. The form of application can be seen from the shape of the stage, the orientation of the building, the selection of building materials and ventilation in the buildings. Component that make a major contribution to thermal comfort is building ventilation. The principle of architectural response to climatic conditions can be seen in the selection of materials, space layout, stage form, use of ventilation and building orientation. The form of response to the climate in the Rumoh Aceh building in architectural science can be seen as a form of suppressing the concept of passive cooling. Variable measurements taken are measurement of temperature Ta (°C), measurement of temperature Tr (°C), measurement of Rh (%), Va (m/s) and ET. Effective Temperature (ET) analysis showed a pattern that did not match at a certain time with the distribution pattern of the Ta, Tr and Rh measurements.
