Abstract

ABSTRACT Behavioral finance explores the psychological factors that impact financial decision-making, challenging the traditional notion that investors are always rational actors. This study examines how emotions such as fear, greed, overconfidence, and regret can lead to systematic biases in investment behavior. By analyzing key behavioral patterns—including herd mentality, loss aversion, and mental accounting—the paper highlights how emotional responses can result in market inefficiencies and suboptimal portfolio choices. Understanding these emotional influences is crucial for investors, financial advisors, and policymakers aiming to foster more rational investment practices. Ultimately, integrating behavioral insights into financial strategies can help mitigate the risks associated with emotionally driven decisions, leading to more stable and effective market outcomes. KEYWORDS: Behavioral Finance, Investment decisions, Fear and Greed, Market Inefficiencies, Risk Mitigation, Mental Accounting.
