Abstract
Coats' disease is a degenerative vasculopathy characterized by retinal telangiectasia, capillary drop-out, hemorrhage, and exudative retinal detachment. Two cases, illustrating a classic juvenile presentation as well as an atypical adult manifestation of Coats' disease, are presented. The pathogenesis and ophthalmoscopic and fluorescein angiographic features of the disease process are discussed, as are potential complications and management strategies associated with the disease. © 1989.
