Abstract

Physiologic responses to high and low leptin concentrations are strikingly asymmetrical. High concentrations often produce minimal effects, whereas low concentrations provoke strong counterregulatory responses. A model and rationale for the physiology is presented. © 2002 International Life Sciences Institute.
