Abstract
Introduction: Based on data from the Baubau City Health Office for 2020, cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) are quite high in the 17 working areas of the Baubau Health Center, one of which is at the Melai Health Center. In 2020 there were 7 cases of dengue fever. Objective: The aim of this research is to find out in depth about the prevention behavior of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in households in the working area of the Melai Health Center, Baubau City. Method: Qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and researchers are the main instruments. Informants were selected by purposive sampling as many as 10 people. Data analysis using Miles and Huberman. The validity of the data using Triangulation. Result: The results of this study showed that most people did not understand well what DHF was, the causes of DHF, the ways of transmission, and some informants understood how to prevent DHF, such as through 3M plus (Draining, Closing, Burying), using mosquito nets, using abate powder, and mosquito repellent lotion. The attitude of the community is positive where the community responds in the form of support and agrees that DHF prevention is carried out with 3M Plus. In terms of action, most of them have taken preventive measures for dengue fever, but there are still some people who are not disciplined in doing 3M Plus, such as not being disciplined in draining their tanks. Conclusion: The majority of people do not understand what DHF is, its causes, ways of transmission and prevention of DHF. His attitude is positive to prevent dengue. Some have taken dengue prevention measures such as wearing abatement sheets and mosquito nets, although sometimes they are not disciplined in draining the water reservoir.
