Abstract
Baldness is a common condition experienced by many individuals, especially men, and is often associated with negative perceptions from society. The purpose of this study was to analyze how psychological and social factors influence public perceptions of individuals with baldness. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach through in-depth interviews with 15 respondents from various age backgrounds and genders. The results showed that negative perceptions such as depictions of being less confident, less attractive, and older were significantly influenced by social stereotypes and ignorance about the medical factors that cause baldness. In conclusion, public education and psychosocial interventions are needed to change these negative perceptions.
