Abstract

The purpose of this program is to process spinach into ice cream as well as foster spinach and community growers to be more innovative and creative in providing added results of their agricultural products are abundant and more easily obtained more efficient and more economical. Making ice cream is actually simple, which mix the ingredients and then cool. Ice cream that is usually on the market is usually made or made from liquid milk. The method used in this program by counseling community training on spinach processing into a more attractive and affordable product is spinach ice cream which will then be marketed by BUMDes as a collaborative institution of village government and community. This activity was conducted with the support of local government and students of STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo. In addition, the people of Burau Village, Burau District, especially the farmers and the surrounding community groups, are empowered in this activity. To date, community training programs on the manufacture of spinach ice cream have been done, in addition knowledge of marketing and the calculation of the cost of goods is also given to the community. Monitoring of activities will continue to be undertaken as the next stage of the plan. Keywords: spinach; ice cream; empowerment.
