Abstract
Fracture of the prosthesis common occurrence that is both inconvenient and takes a long time for the clinician to repair. As a result, prosthesis researchers are interested in of enhancing strength utilizing nano filler. The objective of this study is to determine flexural strength, compression strength, impact strength and hardness after the addition of both nano zinc oxide and polypropylene fibers into polymethyl methacrylate. Approximately 120 samples of nanocomposites were fabricated from (thermoplastic PMMA) filled by (5 wt% polypropylene fiber) and (1.5%, 3%, 4.5% and 6% wt% ZnO nano) using the vacuum packing method. An independent sample T test and (ANOVA) is used to analyze the test results, where the (P-values less than 0.05) are considered significant. The findings demonstrate that adding 5 wt% polypropylene fibers and (1.5, 3, and 4.5 wt%) ZnO nanoparticles to (polymethyl methacrylate) polymer improved flexural strength, compressive strength and impact strength (528.00±3.650 MPa, 120.00±5.680 MPa, 12.5400±.26000 J/m2) respectively. On the other hand, the results display that adding the weight fractions of ZnO nanoparticles from (1%) to (6%) The values of hardness shore D have greatly improved. The flexural strength, compression strength, and impact strength start to reduce with increasing the weight concentration of nanoparticles ZnO to (6%). The presence of nanoparticles at low concentrations had a discernible influence on the characteristics of the produced composites, according to an ANOVA analysis.
