Abstract

The Automobile sector is growing with the latest advancements in the petrol version and diesel version of the automobile, but there is still need to optimize the need to reduce the emissions which is causing heavy air pollution. There is always a need to replace the conventional fuel with biofuel which can tackle the problem of emission also can increase the thermal efficiency. So to avoid the problem of emission from the diesel engines we have chosen biodiesel for our work. The present work deals with the design, analysis and fabrication of a Toroidal piston bowl profile with tangential groves on the top of piston on the standard piston of a diesel engine with hemispherical combustion chamber. Also, the performance, combustion and emission characteristics are to be studied using biodiesel.
