Abstract

Service procurement is a business function of increasing importance andis highly suitable for integration of electronic support, but it suffersfrom severe research deficits. As yet, implementation prerequisites forelectronic procurement of services are obscure and not quantifiable. Inthis research project, organization, formalization, and specializationof procurement and standardization and strategic importance of theprocured services are identified as relevant implementationprerequisites. Measurement models for these prerequisites areestablished and proven through quantitative empirical research. As such,this article is a major step towards a more rigorous investigation ofelectronic procurement of services.
