Pemanfaatan Instagram sebagai Media Komunikasi Kepala Daerah

Abstract

The use of social media as a medium of communication by regional heads has an important value, considering that social media has a broad scope, from the local to the global level. Social media is also relatively easy to use with no special skills or training required. Some examples of regional heads who actively use Instagram social media are West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming, Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto, and West Bandung District Regent Hengky Kurniawan. This study aims to determine the use of Instagram as a communication medium for regional heads on their respective Instagram accounts. This research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through literature studies. non-participant observation and documentation. The results of the study concluded that Ridwan Kamil, Ganjar Pranowo, Gibran Rakabuming, Bima Arya, and Hengky Kurniawan used Instagram as an effective communication medium. With interesting and inspiring content, they are able to convey information, listen to people's aspirations, and build closer relationships with residents. The positive response from followers proves that the use of Instagram by these leaders has a positive impact in creating transparency, involving the community, and strengthening their image as a relevant regional head figure.
