Abstract

The CML is an essential element of the IPP in every health care facility, playing critical roles in surveillance, outbreak detection and management, antimicrobial stewardship, risk assessment and planning (through participation on the infection control committee), and education. Close collaboration between CML and IPP personnel is required to ensure optimal HAI prevention, which saves money and lives. Copyright © 2011, American Society for Microbiology. All Rights Reserved.
