Abstract

The creation of protected areas is one of the most recurrent environmental politics worldwide. The protection of an area, however, involves different levels of conflict due to the appropriation of environmental resources. This paper analyzes the category of conflicts as a theoretical tool to apprehend the composition of the social agenda. It presents a new perspective of social battles.
