Abstract

It has been observed that a typographical error has occurred in Vol. 19 on page 186, line 20, where n should be defined as the number of 'impulses/second in a typical 8 h day' and not as printed.n is obtained by dividing the total number of impulses in an 8 h day by 28 800. Calculations using the equation (3) as printed will overestimate LEq by about 45 dB, and it is hoped that this will have alerted readers to the error! © 1978 British Occupational Hygiene Society.
