Abstract

The author discusses the efficiency of the use of mobile communications for health services and information. He states that the ultimate objective for the development of this practice in the health sector is to enhance the outcome of medical services and initiatives in the U.S. The author notes that there are several barriers to the implementation of mobile health (mHealth) such as smartphone penetration, lack of regulation and absence of standardization.
