Abstract
This study was motivated by the significance of academic performance, particularly among engineering students who often face heavy workloads and sleep quality issues. The objective of this research was to investigate the impact of workload and sleep quality on the academic performance of engineering students at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran"Jakarta. A total of 258 students completed questionnaires to measure workload using the NASA-TLX, sleep quality using the PSQI, and academic performance. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between workload and academic performance (-0.439) as well as between sleep quality and academic performance (-0.451). Additionally, a positive correlation was found between workload and sleep quality (0.615). Regression analysis indicated that workload accounted for 19.2% of the variance in academic performance, while sleep quality accounted for 20.4%. These findings underscore the importance of workload management and ensuring adequate sleep to enhance students' academic outcomes. This study recommends effective time management and sleep planning strategies for students.
