Abstract

Selections for larval developmental rate in Cerfafifie apitafa were performed on females (F). males (31) and on both sexes (FM). The results obtained suggest that maternal effects are widely involved because differences are observed between the responses to selection on F and PA1 lines and M line which docs not respond to selection. The decrease observed in fitness does not depend on response to selection but In different lines, pupa weight depends on larval developmental rate nnd changes on the amount of inbreeding which arises during the progress of the selection in relation to the progress of the selection. © 1972 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
