Abstract
Schlumberger's logging tool for differentiating between oil, water and gas in a wellbore in real time is described. The tool is called Ghost (gas holdup optical sensing tool). The configuration of the Schlumberger logging tool string used in wells on TotalFina's Alwyn North field is discussed. Schlumberger's four-armed Flow Caliper Imaging tool is located below Ghost. Trials with Ghost in the Alwyn North field are reported.
